POIESISEAE | Johanna Bolton

A project inspired by an artist’s residency at Kew Gardens Herbarium, where I studied the seeds of the Apocynaceae family.

Poiesiseae is an imaginary plant family with characteristic large hairy / plumed seeds.

Poiesis means poetry, but also refers to the act of creation, in the sense of bringing into being (from poiein = to make)
